Kelly Ripa joined Regis Philbin on the "Live" show in February of 2001 as his official co host. A young mother and soap opera actress from "All My Children", she immediately became a hit...and a millionaire.
Now, this Monday, November 21st, the show will now be called "Live with Kelly" as Regis leaves the airwaves after 28 years. Kelly will be fine. Born on October 2, 1970 in Camden, New Jersey, Kelly's Libra sun is conjuncting Uranus at birth,...the ruler of tv. With Mercury conjunct Pluto in Virgo, she has a fine business acumen, and Jupiter and Venus in Scorpio in her solar second house of money, gives her a fine foundation. Wherever Venus and Jupiter are in a chart provides a soft place to fall, and when they are together in a money house, it secures the flow.
Currently, Saturn is still in Libra but moving away from her sun/Uranus, and it seems to be giving her a solid foundation rather than making things hard as it is wont to do.
Uranus, the ruler of tv, and the planet her sun shines on, flirted with trining her sun sign this year, and then went retrograde, but will trine it in the coming year, in Aries, seeing her pioneer and forge a new identity as the star of the show, no matter who comes on as co host eventually.
Kelly's first show was February 5, 2001. Not sure if that was her debut, or the first show after she signed her contract, but that's the date given. If we create a composite chart between the two to create a chart of her tenure on the show, It puts the moon at 4 of Virgo. In a country's chart, the moon is looked at as the populace, the people, so if we keep with that perspective, then Pluto is trining the moon, Uranus is inconjuncting it (a new move in a new direction, that sounds about right), Neptune is opposing (which might bring in a gauzy element within a year).
I'm sure Kelly will do well. In recent years, altho I love Regis as everyone does, when he wasn't there, it didn't cause me to turn off the set. But when Kelly wasn't there, unless there was a really good guest, or a really good guest hostess, I might not have watched. primarily because the connection just wasn't there with others. But, Kelly Ripa is now in the role of star of "Live" with a new 5 year contract which will give her at least a 16 year run on the show. Her son Michael hates her talking about him on camera, and she teasingly calls him "the child who won't be named", but Michael needs to realize he's living the good life because of that host chat each day on the show, which endears his mom to the world.
